Why Join The Heliconian Club?
One of the primary pleasures of membership in the Toronto Heliconian Club is that of regular contact with women in creative professions other than one's own.

The members are vital women of all ages in visual arts, music, writing, acting, dancing and related fields in the humanities.

We welcome gifted women to the Heliconian Club. A new member will find that she is among friends, enjoying and, as her time permits, helping to organize or to participate in the Club's many activities.

Heliconian Hall
A new member will be at home in historic Heliconian Hall. Its main room is a large hall with vaulted ceiling and good acoustics, a stage and grand piano, good space and facilities for art exhibitions and a generous fireplace. This room is used for dining, exhibitions, a sketch group, concerts, lectures and meetings. Adjoining it are a small and graceful meeting room and bar, a well-appointed kitchen and an office for the Club's executive secretary. A Heliconian Club member may reserve Heliconian Hall for her own use once a year at a reduced rental rate.

The Sections
The Club membership is divided into five sections--Art, Drama, Music, Literature and Humanities. Membership applications should be accompanied by a curriculum vitae and may come from the prospective member or from a member of any of the Sections. Applications are reviewed by the appropriate section and, if approved, sent to the Club executive for final approval.

Club Hours of Operation
The Club is open and operative from the first week in September to the end of June. Staff is on duty between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Summer phone calls are recorded and answered.
